8-Inch Ceiling Speaker for Paging & Background Music
The Speco Technologies SPE86TS is an 8-inch commercial ceiling speaker designed for distributed 70V and 25V audio systems. Its square white grille provides a clean alternative to traditional round commercial ceiling speakers and works especially well with suspended ceiling layouts.
With five selectable transformer taps, the SPE86TS can be adjusted for quiet offices, corridors and waiting areas or used at higher settings for retail stores, restaurants, classrooms and other commercial spaces requiring paging and light background music.

Most commercial ceiling speakers use a round grille. The SPE86TS uses a square grille that can visually coordinate with ceiling tiles, lighting fixtures, air diffusers and other rectangular ceiling elements.

Selectable Transformer Taps
The built-in transformer provides five wattage settings. Selecting the appropriate tap lets the installer balance speaker output, room requirements and total amplifier load.

These are general planning examples. Final tap selection depends on speaker spacing, ceiling height, room acoustics, background noise and the required listening level.
How to Size the Commercial Amplifier
Add the selected wattage tap of every speaker connected to the amplifier. The speaker's 10W RMS rating is not the same as the transformer load used when calculating a 70V or 25V system.

70V or 25V — Which System Is It For?
The SPE86TS includes a dual-voltage transformer and can be used with compatible 70V or 25V commercial audio systems.
Use only the transformer connection intended for the amplifier's actual speaker-line voltage. Do not mix 25V and 70V connections on the same speaker circuit.
For projects requiring a compatible rear enclosure, the SPE86TS can be paired with the Speco SES8 Square Back Mounting Box .
The SES8 is sold separately. Confirm ceiling construction, available clearance and project requirements before installation.
Square SPE86TS or Round SPE86T?
Both models are designed for similar 70V/25V commercial applications. The most obvious difference is the visible ceiling finish.
