Description

Power an extensive commercial music and paging system with the TEXONIC EX650D 650W mixer amplifier.

Designed for high speaker counts and demanding business environments, the EX650D combines powerful Class-D amplification, built-in music playback, microphone mixing and paging control in a slim 1U rack-mount chassis.

High-Power Audio Without a Large Chassis

The EX650D delivers 650W of output while occupying only one space in a standard 19-inch equipment rack.

Its high output capacity makes it suitable for large distributed speaker systems where numerous ceiling, wall, pendant or paging speakers must operate from one central amplifier.

One Audio Program Across the Facility

The EX650D is a single-zone mixer amplifier. All connected speakers receive the same selected music, microphone announcement or paging program.

Commercial volume controls may be installed in selected areas for local level adjustment. Independent music sources in different areas require a multi-zone or matrix audio system.

Music Playback for Daily Operation

Built-in Bluetooth allows staff to stream audio from a compatible smartphone, tablet or computer.

The front USB connection provides convenient playback from a compatible storage device. The media player supports automatic playback when the amplifier is switched on with suitable USB content available.

Three Microphone Channels

Three microphone inputs support front-desk announcements, staff calls, presentations and general facility paging.

Priority Paging Control

The priority function automatically reduces lower-priority audio when an important source is activated.

Priority order: Alarm → MIC 1 → MIC 2 / MIC 3 / AUX

This allows announcements and alert tones to be heard more clearly without staff manually lowering the background-music controls.

Chime and Facility Alert Tone

Use the built-in chime before a routine announcement to attract attention. The alarm tone can support general facility notifications and staff alerts.

These features are intended for standard commercial paging. The EX650D is not a certified fire-alarm or emergency voice-evacuation system.

Two AUX Inputs for Dedicated Sources

AUX 1 and AUX 2 accept compatible line-level equipment such as a computer, network streamer, television, tuner, media player or external audio receiver.

The microphone, AUX, Bluetooth and USB levels can be balanced before the final output is controlled by the master volume.

Line Output for Expansion

The line-level output sends the complete mixed audio program to compatible external equipment. It may feed an additional commercial power amplifier, recorder or audio processor when the installation requires further expansion.

Designed for 100V Speaker Systems

The 100V output is suitable for distributed commercial audio systems with multiple compatible speakers and longer cable runs.

Ceiling, wall, pendant and paging speakers equipped with 100V transformer taps may be connected in parallel. Select the required wattage tap on each speaker and add all selected taps together.

The transformer tap determines how much amplifier power each speaker uses. It is not necessary to operate every speaker at its maximum tap setting.

Match Each Speaker Tap to the Area

Different tap settings can be used throughout the same properly designed 100V speaker system.

  • Lower taps can serve offices, corridors, reception areas and quieter public spaces.
  • Medium taps can provide background music in retail, dining and hospitality areas.
  • Higher taps may be required in warehouses, gymnasiums and other locations with greater ambient noise.
  • Recalculate the total load whenever a speaker or tap setting changes.

Speaker Load and 20% Operating Reserve

The combined wattage of all selected 100V speaker taps must remain below the amplifier’s 650W rated output. Maintaining approximately 20% unused capacity is recommended for dependable commercial operation.

Recommended 20% reserve: 130W

Recommended maximum speaker-tap load: Approximately 520W

The 520W recommendation is the combined total of the selected transformer taps—not the sum of the speakers’ maximum power ratings unless those maximum taps are actually being used.

Example Speaker-Load Calculations

20 speakers at 15W each create a 300W total load.

30 speakers at 10W each create a 300W total load.

40 speakers at 10W each create a 400W total load.

These examples show how speaker quantity and tap selection work together. The final tap setting should be based on the required volume, speaker model, placement and background-noise level.

8–16Ω Low-Impedance Operation

The EX650D also provides an 8–16Ω output for a properly engineered low-impedance speaker system. Confirm total impedance, speaker power handling, cable gauge and cable distance before using this output.

Important Speaker Connection Notice

Use only one speaker output type for the complete system: either the 100V output or the 8–16Ω low-impedance output.

Do not operate both output types at the same time. Confirm the output selection, total load, transformer taps and wiring polarity before switching on the amplifier.

Rack Installation and Ventilation

The EX650D occupies one rack space in a standard 19-inch equipment rack. Its compact design leaves more room for streamers, microphones, processors and other commercial AV equipment.

High-output amplifiers generate heat during operation. Keep all ventilation openings clear and provide adequate airflow inside the equipment rack.
