Description
Commercial 70V/100V Power or High-Output 8Ω Stereo
The TEXONIC RXD480 is a compact Class-D power amplifier delivering 480W for 70V/100V distributed speaker systems or 2 × 240W at 8Ω for compatible two-channel speaker systems. It is designed for installations where the music source, streamer, mixer or audio controller is separate from the power amplifier.
Two Ways to Use the RXD480
Commercial Distributed Audio
Use the 480W constant-voltage output with compatible transformer-equipped ceiling, pendant, wall-mount, surface-mount or paging speakers. This mode is well suited to larger restaurants, retail stores, gyms, offices, hotels, showrooms, warehouses and other installed business audio systems.
Commercial or Residential Stereo
Switch to the 8-ohm output for a compatible two-channel speaker system with up to 240W available per channel. This can suit higher-power home stereo rooms, media spaces, studios, boardrooms, presentation rooms or commercial installations using conventional 8Ω speakers.
Add the Audio Source You Need
The RXD480 is a dedicated power amplifier. It does not include built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB music playback, FM radio or microphone mixing.
Connect a compatible network streamer, mixer, preamplifier, DSP, matrix controller or other line-level source. This design is especially useful when a system already has its preferred source and control equipment and simply requires more amplifier power.
Flexible Connections for Home & Installed Audio
Planning a 70V/100V Speaker System
Add together the selected transformer tap wattage of every connected speaker. For practical commercial system planning, allowing approximately 20% unused amplifier capacity gives a recommended speaker-tap load of about 384W on the RXD480.
| Example System | Tap Per Speaker | Total Load | RXD480 Capacity |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12 speakers | 30W each | 360W | Within recommended load |
| 16 speakers | 20W each | 320W | Ample capacity |
| 24 speakers | 15W each | 360W | Within recommended load |
Speaker quantity alone does not determine amplifier size. Calculate the system using the actual transformer tap selected on each speaker.
180Hz High-Pass Filter for Smaller Commercial Speakers
A selectable 180Hz high-pass filter reduces deep low-frequency content before it reaches the speakers. This can be useful with compact ceiling, wall or paging speakers where improved voice clarity and reduced bass energy are preferred. Leave the filter off when the connected speakers and application require a wider frequency range.
