Choose How You Want Music to Work Around Your Home

A multi-room audio system can play music in two rooms, several listening areas or throughout your home. The right system depends on one important choice: should every room share the same music, or should rooms be able to play independently?

AVTECK carries simple two-room systems, complete ceiling-speaker packages and centralized 4- and 6-zone streaming systems. Start with the control you want, then choose the amplifier and speakers that fit the number of rooms.

What Do You Want Each Room to Do?

“Multi-room” can mean different things. Choose the control style first and the equipment becomes much easier to narrow down.

Simple Two-Room Setup

Same Music, Different Volume

A practical choice when two areas can share the same music source but need separate volume control—for example a kitchen and living room.

Independent Multi-Room

Different Music in Different Rooms

Choose a system with independent zone streaming when one person may want music in the kitchen while another listens to something different in a bedroom or basement.

Central Audio for Up to Six Zones

A central multi-zone amplifier is a better fit when several rooms are wired back to one equipment location and the system needs room-by-room source and volume control.

Good to Know

Wi-Fi Does Not Automatically Mean Independent Multi-Room Audio

A Wi-Fi amplifier may still control only one listening zone. For independent music in several rooms, confirm the number of zones, built-in streamers and whether the system supports independent playback or only grouped playback. This is often more important than choosing the system by Wi-Fi or Bluetooth alone.

Planning Your Home

A Room and an Audio Zone Are Not Always the Same Thing

A zone is an area you want to control independently. Two nearby rooms can share one zone if they always play together. If each room needs its own volume or music selection, plan them as separate zones.

Kitchen + Dining One zone may be enough if both areas will normally play together.
Living Room + Bedroom Separate zones make more sense when listening habits and volume levels are different.
Indoor + Patio Consider separate control so outdoor volume can change without affecting the rooms inside.
Popular Starting Points

Choose a System Size That Matches Your Home

Start with the number of independently controlled areas you need. Complete packages include speakers, while amplifier-only options are useful when you already have speakers or want to choose them separately.

QX200 Dual-Zone Audio

Building Your Own System?

Complete Package or Individual Components

Choose a complete package when you want the amplifier and speaker quantity already grouped together. Shop individual components when you already have part of the system or need a custom combination.

Before You Choose a System

Four Things to Decide Before Ordering

1. Number of Zones Count areas that need independent control, not simply the number of rooms in the house.
2. Music Control Decide whether rooms can share one source or need independent music and streaming.
3. Speaker Load Confirm speaker impedance, quantity and amplifier power before connecting passive speakers.
4. Wiring & Network Plan where the amplifier will live, speaker-cable routes and whether a wired network connection is available.
