Product Overview

The Crown XLS1002 is a lightweight two-channel professional power amplifier designed for portable PA systems, live sound, installed audio, stage monitors, full-range loudspeakers and subwoofer systems.

Crown DriveCore Class-D technology delivers high output from a compact 2U chassis while keeping the amplifier’s net weight to only 8.6 lb. Each channel provides 550W at 2 ohms, 350W at 4 ohms or 215W at 8 ohms.

For higher-power single-speaker applications, the XLS1002 can operate in bridge-mono mode at 1100W into 4 ohms or 700W into 8 ohms. Its onboard DSP provides crossover, band-pass filtering and limiter functions without requiring a separate external processor.

Important Speaker Compatibility Notice

The Crown XLS1002 is a low-impedance power amplifier for compatible 2-ohm, 4-ohm and 8-ohm speaker loads.

Do not connect the amplifier directly to a 70V or 100V distributed speaker line. Bridge-mono operation requires a minimum 4-ohm load. Confirm the loudspeaker impedance and power rating before connecting the system.

DSP and System Control
  • PureBand crossover control for speaker and subwoofer systems
  • Band-pass filter control for each amplifier channel
  • Peakx limiters for connected-speaker protection
  • Selectable 1.4Vrms and 0.775Vrms input sensitivity
  • Configurable sleep mode
  • Front-panel menu-security function
  • System reset for restoring factory settings
  • Adjustable front-panel indicator lighting
Recommended Applications
  • Portable PA speaker systems
  • Live music and performance venues
  • DJ and event audio systems
  • Stage monitor amplification

Basic Setup Guidance
  1. Turn off the amplifier and all connected audio equipment before making connections.
  2. Connect the mixer, processor, receiver or source equipment to the appropriate XLR, ¼-inch or RCA inputs.
  3. Connect compatible low-impedance loudspeakers to the SpeakON or binding-post outputs.
  4. Select stereo, input-Y or bridge-mono operation as required by the speaker system.
  5. Configure the input sensitivity, crossover and limiter settings before raising the volume.
  6. Begin with the channel-level controls lowered and increase the level gradually while checking for clipping or speaker distortion.
