Description
Distribute background music and clear announcements across six business areas from one professionally organized commercial amplifier.
The TEXONIC BX12N combines 120W of shared amplifier power with six individually adjustable speaker zones, Wi-Fi streaming, Bluetooth, USB playback and microphone paging. It is designed for commercial spaces that need one central audio program with separate volume control in each area.
Six Individually Controlled Speaker Zones
Six front-panel zone controls allow staff to turn each speaker area on or off and adjust its volume without changing the level in the other zones.
| Example Zone | Possible Business Area |
|---|---|
| Zone 1 | Main sales floor, dining room or public area |
| Zone 2 | Reception, entrance or checkout area |
| Zone 3 | Hallway, waiting room or secondary seating area |
| Zone 4 | Office, meeting room or treatment area |
| Zone 5 | Staff room, fitting rooms or service area |
| Zone 6 | Stockroom, washrooms, patio or additional room |
Important Zone Operation
All six zones receive the same selected music, microphone announcement and paging signal.
Each zone has independent on/off and volume control, but the BX12N does not provide six independent music sources.
Different music in different areas requires a matrix amplifier, separate streamers or additional zone amplifiers.
120W Shared Across All Six Zones
Total amplifier output: 120W
Zone count: Six individually adjustable speaker zones
The 120W rating is shared by every speaker connected across Zones 1 through 6. It is not 120W for each zone.
Designed for Multi-Area Businesses
- Restaurants, cafés and lounges
- Retail stores and showrooms
- Medical clinics and professional offices
- Schools and training facilities
- Hotels and hospitality spaces
- Gyms and recreation facilities
- Community halls and places of worship
- Commercial background-music and paging systems
Wi-Fi Streaming with App Control
The built-in network player connects to a compatible 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and can be managed through the 4Stream app on supported mobile devices.
Network streaming is useful for businesses that play music throughout the day because playback can continue without keeping the controlling device within normal Bluetooth range.
Compatible Network Playback
- 4Stream app control
- AirPlay-compatible network playback
- DLNA-compatible playback
- QPlay-compatible playback
- Locally stored music from compatible devices
- Supported internet music and radio services through the app
Music-service availability may change according to the app version, subscription, region and service provider.
Wired LAN Connection
A rear RJ45 network connection allows the amplifier to be hard-wired to a compatible router or network switch. A wired connection is recommended where possible for permanent commercial installations, especially when the equipment rack has weak wireless coverage.
Bluetooth for Quick Local Playback
Bluetooth provides a convenient local connection for a compatible smartphone, tablet or computer. It is useful for temporary playlists, presentations or backup playback when network streaming is not required.
USB Music Playback
The front USB port supports music playback from a compatible USB 2.0 storage device.
- Play and pause control
- Previous and next track selection
- Repeat, folder and random playback modes
- Preset equalizer selections
- Track information on the front display
Three Microphone Inputs
Three microphone channels support staff paging, customer announcements, presentations and general public-address applications.
- Three rear XLR/6.35mm combination microphone inputs
- Front 6.35mm connection for Microphone 1
- Separate rear microphone gain adjustment
- Individual front-panel microphone controls
- Switchable 48V phantom power
- Microphone 1 priority over normal audio sources
Automatic MIC 1 Priority
When Microphone 1 priority is enabled, speaking into the connected paging microphone reduces the level of normal background audio.
The music returns after the announcement ends, helping staff make clear pages without manually lowering the music source first.
Chime and Siren Controls
Built-in chime and siren functions provide convenient tones for routine announcements and general facility notifications.
These functions are intended for general commercial paging. The BX12N is not a certified fire-alarm or emergency voice-evacuation system.
External Audio Connections
- Stereo RCA AUX input for an external music source
- AMP IN connection for compatible external audio equipment
- PRE OUT connection for an additional amplifier or processor
- EMC input for a compatible priority or alarm signal
Compatible external sources may include a computer, network player, tuner, media player, mixer or other line-level audio device.
70V and 100V Commercial Speaker Systems
The six zone outputs are designed for distributed commercial speakers equipped with compatible 70V or 100V transformer taps.
Connect the speakers in parallel and select the correct transformer tap on each speaker. Add every selected speaker tap across all six zones to calculate the complete amplifier load.
Speaker Load and 20% Headroom
The manual recommends keeping the connected speaker load at no more than approximately 80% of the amplifier’s rated output when it is used for background music.
Rated amplifier output: 120W total
Recommended 20% reserve: 24W
Recommended maximum speaker-tap load: Approximately 96W across all six zones combined
Example Six-Zone Speaker Load
| Zone | Example Speakers | Zone Load |
|---|---|---|
| Zone 1 | 3 speakers at 5W | 15W |
| Zone 2 | 3 speakers at 5W | 15W |
| Zone 3 | 2 speakers at 5W | 10W |
| Zone 4 | 2 speakers at 5W | 10W |
| Zone 5 | 2 speakers at 5W | 10W |
| Zone 6 | 2 speakers at 5W | 10W |
| Total | 14 speakers | 70W combined load |
This is a general planning example. Final speaker taps depend on the speaker model, room size, mounting height, spacing, acoustics and required sound level.
Adjust Speaker Taps by Location
- Use lower taps in offices, hallways and quiet waiting areas.
- Use medium taps in retail, dining and general customer spaces.
- Use higher taps only where additional sound output is required.
- Recalculate the total load after changing any speaker tap.
4Ω and 8Ω Low-Impedance Output
The BX12N also supports a properly designed 4-ohm or 8-ohm low-impedance speaker system. Confirm the final impedance, speaker quantity, wiring arrangement and power handling before using this output.
Important Speaker Connection Notice
Use only one speaker output type for the complete installation: 70V, 100V, 4Ω or 8Ω.
Do not operate the constant-voltage and low-impedance outputs at the same time.
Confirm the system voltage, COM connection, speaker polarity, transformer taps and total load before switching on the amplifier.
19-Inch Rack-Mount Installation
The BX12N is designed for installation in a standard 19-inch commercial AV rack and uses an approximately 2U-high chassis.
Keep the ventilation openings clear and provide suitable airflow around the amplifier. Avoid installing it directly beside equipment that produces excessive heat.
Built-In Amplifier Protection
- Speaker-line short-circuit protection
- Amplifier-overload protection
- High-temperature protection
- Front signal indicator
- Clip-status indicator
- Protection-status indicator
