Product Overview

The North Line CH430T is an all-weather, wide-range horn speaker designed for clear voice paging, background music and tone signalling in commercial public address systems.

It combines the long-throw speech projection of a horn speaker with the fuller sound quality of a 4.5-inch full-range dynamic driver. Its frequency response extends from 100 Hz to 12 kHz, making it more suitable for music and general audio than a traditional narrow-range paging horn.

The constant-directivity horn provides controlled 90-degree horizontal coverage for consistent sound across the listening area. A built-in transformer supports selectable 70V and 100V power taps, while the 8-ohm bypass setting allows connection to compatible low-impedance amplifiers.

Important Connection Notice Select the correct wattage tap for the amplifier line voltage before operating the system. Do not use the 8-ohm bypass position when the speaker is connected to a 70V or 100V speaker line.
Amplifier and Speaker Load

For 70V and 100V systems, add together the selected tap wattage of every speaker connected to the amplifier. The total speaker load must remain below the amplifier’s rated output.

Example: Four CH430T speakers set to 15W create a total connected load of 60W.

Installation Guidance
  1. Mount the bracket securely to a suitable wall, pole or ceiling surface using hardware appropriate for the structure.
  2. Confirm that the mounting surface can safely support the speaker’s 2.73 kg / 6 lb weight.
  3. Attach the horn speaker to the bracket and connect the required 70V, 100V or 8-ohm input.
  4. Aim the speaker toward the intended listening area and slightly downward for outdoor installations.
  5. Tighten all support screws and confirm that the speaker is secure before powering the audio system.
Outdoor Installation Note Do not install the speaker face-up. Aim it downward so rain or snow cannot collect inside the horn. Follow applicable local electrical and building codes.

IP55 Weather Protection

The IP55 rating provides protection against dust and water jets. It does not mean that the speaker is waterproof or submersible. Use appropriate outdoor-rated speaker cable, weather-resistant cable-entry methods and mounting hardware for the installation environment.
