Description
120-Inch • 16:9 • Fixed Frame • Matte White
Create a large, permanent viewing surface for movies, sports, gaming and presentations with the TEXONIC FX120 fixed frame projector screen.
The TEXONIC FX120 is a 120-inch fixed frame projector screen designed for Canadian home theatres, gaming rooms, media spaces and permanent presentation installations. Its tension-spring system helps maintain a flat projection surface, while the black velvet-covered aluminum frame creates a clean cinema-style border around the image.
The 16:9 matte-white screen material has a published 1.1 gain and 160-degree viewing angle. It is suitable for compatible standard-throw and short-throw projectors when the projector distance, image size and room lighting are planned correctly.

TEXONIC FX120 Fixed Frame Projector Screen
A fixed frame screen is designed for rooms where the projection surface can remain permanently installed. The screen material is stretched across the frame using a spring-tension system to help produce a flat, stable viewing area.
Unlike a painted wall, the dedicated matte-white material provides a more consistent surface without normal drywall texture, paint marks or uneven patches affecting the projected image.
Brand: TEXONIC
Model / SKU: FX120
Screen type: Fixed frame projector screen
Screen size: 120-inch diagonal
Installation: Permanent wall-mounted setup
Flat Tensioned Surface
The supplied spring-tension system stretches the screen material evenly around the frame. A properly assembled tensioned surface helps reduce wrinkles, waves and loose areas that may become visible in a projected image.
Surface flatness is especially important for short-throw projectors because their light reaches the screen from a sharper angle than many standard-throw models.
Matte-White 1.1 Gain Material
The FX120 uses 0.45 mm matte-white PVC screen material with an imaging coating. Its published 1.1 gain provides a balanced surface for everyday home theatre, gaming and presentation use.
Matte-white material works best where room lighting can be reduced. Curtains, blinds and controlled lighting can improve perceived contrast and prevent the picture from looking washed out.
Wide 160° Viewing Angle
The published 160-degree viewing angle supports seating across a broad area of the room. Viewers do not need to sit directly in the centre to enjoy the projected image, although the main seating position should still be aligned as closely as practical with the centre of the screen.
Black Velvet-Covered Aluminum Frame
The lightweight aluminum frame is wrapped in black velvet. The dark border creates a finished cinema-style appearance and helps reduce visible stray light around the edge of the projected image.
The frame also provides a clear visual boundary that makes projector alignment easier during installation.
120-Inch 16:9 Viewing Format
The 16:9 aspect ratio matches most home theatre movies, streaming content, television programs, sports broadcasts, game consoles and widescreen presentations.

Standard-Throw and Short-Throw Compatibility
The flat fixed-frame design is suitable for many standard-throw and short-throw projectors. The projector must be capable of producing a 120-inch 16:9 image from the available mounting distance.
Always use the projector manufacturer’s throw-distance calculator before ordering. Two projectors described as short throw may require different distances for the same 120-inch image.
Ultra-short-throw compatibility: Do not assume that every UST projector will perform best with a standard matte-white screen.
Some ultra-short-throw projectors, especially in rooms with uncontrolled ambient light, may require a dedicated UST ALR or CLR screen. Check the projector manufacturer’s screen recommendation.
HD and 4K Projector Use
The smooth matte-white material is marketed as 4K ready and can be used with compatible HD and 4K projectors.
The screen itself does not create image resolution. Final sharpness, colour and detail depend on the projector, video source, focus, alignment, room lighting and viewing distance.
Recommended Applications
| Room or Application | Typical Use |
|---|---|
| Dedicated Home Theatre | Movies, streaming content, sports and television |
| Gaming Room | Console and PC gaming on a large 16:9 image |
| Media or Family Room | Permanent large-screen home entertainment |
| Boardroom or Meeting Room | Presentations, video meetings and training |
| Education or Training Space | Instructional video, presentations and demonstrations |
| Golf or Sports Simulator | Visual display only where the screen will not receive ball impact |
This is a projection screen, not an impact screen. Do not use it where golf balls, sports equipment or other objects may strike the screen material.
Measure the Wall Before Ordering
The published assembled size is approximately 110 inches wide by 64 inches high. Measure the complete installation area rather than relying only on the 120-inch diagonal measurement.
- Confirm at least 110 inches of clear wall width.
- Confirm at least 64 inches of clear wall height.
- Allow additional working space for assembly and mounting.
- Check the finished screen height from the floor.
- Confirm that doors, cabinets, outlets and speakers will not be blocked.
- Verify projector throw distance and lens position.
- Plan power, HDMI and network cable routes before installation.
Seating and Viewing Position
Position the screen so the main seating area faces the centre of the image. Avoid installing the screen so high that viewers must look upward for long periods.
The best seating distance depends on projector resolution, viewer preference and content. Confirm that the room provides enough distance for comfortable viewing before selecting a 120-inch screen.
Assembly and Wall Installation
The FX120 is supplied as an assembly kit. The aluminum frame is joined first, followed by installation of the screen material and tension springs.
- Select a clean floor area large enough for the complete frame.
- Protect the velvet frame and screen material from dirt and sharp objects.
- Assemble and square the aluminum frame.
- Position the screen material correctly without folding or creasing it.
- Install the tension springs evenly around opposite sides of the frame.
- Confirm the frame remains square and the material is evenly tensioned.
- Secure the wall-mount system to suitable structural support.
- Use two people to lift and position the assembled screen.
Supplied hardware must be checked against the wall construction. Drywall, masonry, concrete and wood framing may require different anchors or fasteners. Do not rely on drywall alone to support the complete screen.
Screen Care and Cleaning
- Remove loose dust carefully with a clean, soft cloth.
- Use a lightly dampened cloth and mild soap where cleaning is required.
- Test any cleaning method on a small, less visible area first.
- Do not use abrasive pads, harsh solvents or strong chemical cleaners.
- Do not press hard enough to stretch or mark the screen material.
- Keep sharp objects away from the viewing surface.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the FX120 suitable for a short-throw projector?
It is suitable for many short-throw projectors because the fixed frame keeps the surface tensioned and flat. Confirm that the projector can produce a 120-inch 16:9 image from the available distance.
Can I use it with an ultra-short-throw projector?
Compatibility depends on the projector and room. Some UST projectors work with a flat matte-white screen in a dark room, while others perform better with a dedicated UST ALR or CLR material.
What is the complete assembled size?
The published overall dimensions are approximately 110 inches wide by 64 inches high. Allow additional space for assembly and mounting.
What is the visible image size?
A 120-inch 16:9 image measures approximately 104.6 inches wide by 58.8 inches high.
Is the screen retractable?
No. It is a permanent fixed-frame screen. Choose a motorized projector screen when the viewing surface must retract after use.
Can speakers be installed behind the screen?
No. The matte-white PVC material is not acoustically transparent. Use an acoustically transparent projector screen when front speakers must be positioned behind the image.
Is the FX120 supplied fully assembled?
No. The frame, screen material and tensioning system require assembly before the completed screen is mounted on the wall.
Can the screen material be cleaned?
Yes. Use a soft cloth with a small amount of mild soap and water when necessary. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents and excessive pressure.
Is this screen suitable for a bright room?
The matte-white material performs best where room lighting can be controlled. A brighter projector or specialized ambient-light- rejecting screen may be more suitable for strong daylight.
Is shipping available?
This is an oversized product. Review the current pickup or delivery notice shown near the price and confirm availability before ordering.
