Description

Create a clean 100-inch viewing area for movies, gaming, presentations and classroom content with a motorized projector screen that lowers or retracts at the press of a button.

The TEXONIC TWX100 is a 100-inch electric motorized projector screen with a 16:9 matte-white viewing surface, PVC-coated fibreglass construction and 1.1 gain. Operate the screen using the included RF remote or wall control keypad, and install the housing on a suitable wall or ceiling. It is designed for home theatres, media rooms, offices, classrooms, boardrooms and permanent indoor AV installations.

TEXONIC TWX100 100-Inch Motorized Projector Screen

The TWX100 combines a retractable projection surface, quiet tubular motor, metal housing, black masking borders, RF remote and wall keypad in one ready-to-install electric screen assembly.

When the projector is not being used, the screen retracts into its housing to free the wall area and help protect the viewing surface from dust and accidental contact.

Matte-White Fibreglass Projection Surface

The 0.56mm screen material uses fibreglass reinforcement with a PVC-coated matte-white viewing surface. The fibreglass layer helps the material resist flexing and maintain a more consistent shape during normal use.

The matte-white finish reflects projected light across the viewing area without the highly reflective appearance of a glossy surface. It is best suited to indoor rooms where lighting can be reduced during movies, gaming or presentations.

1.1 Gain for Balanced Image Brightness

A published gain of 1.1 provides a small increase in reflected brightness while maintaining practical viewing from different positions in the room. Image brightness and contrast will also depend on the projector, room lighting, wall colours, screen placement and viewing angle.

16:9 Format for Movies, Gaming and Presentations

The native 16:9 widescreen shape matches common HD and UHD video, streaming content, gaming consoles, television programs and modern presentation formats.

Content with a different aspect ratio may display black bars or use only part of the screen. Configure the projector’s output and image position to match the 16:9 viewing area.

Electric Up, Down and Stop Control

Use the RF remote control or wall keypad to lower, raise or stop the screen. The screen can be stopped at a preferred position to suit the installation height and viewing setup.

ControlFunction
Down Lowers the screen from the housing
Stop Stops the screen at the required position
Up Retracts the screen into the housing

Four-Side Black Masking Border

Black masking surrounds the white viewing area to create a clear visual boundary around the projected image.

The black-backed material also helps reduce light transmission through the screen. This is useful when the wall behind the screen is a different colour or has distracting visual details.

Approximate Screen Measurements

Confirm the complete housing width, deployed height, electrical outlet position and projector location before drilling or preparing the installation area.

Diagonal Viewing Size 100 in
Visible Image Area Approximately 87 W × 49 H in
Overall Housing Width Approximately 93.4 in
Approximate Mounting Span Approximately 93 in
Total Screen Material Height Approximately 60 in
Total Deployed Height Approximately 64 in
Upper Black Drop Approximately 10.2 in
Housing Height Approximately 3.4 in

Measurements are approximate and may change between production revisions. Measure the current screen assembly before preparing permanent mounting holes, cabinetry or recessed openings.

Wall or Ceiling Installation

The housing is designed for installation on a suitable wall or ceiling structure. Choose the mounting method according to the room layout, projector position and required screen height.

  • Confirm that the structure can safely support the complete screen.
  • Select fasteners and anchors for the wall or ceiling material.
  • Keep the housing level so the material rolls evenly.
  • Check for electrical wiring, plumbing and HVAC components before drilling.
  • Provide access to a compatible 110V power outlet.
  • Confirm the projector throw distance before final installation.

Surface-specific screws, anchors and expansion bolts are not included. Installation hardware must be selected according to the mounting surface and structural conditions.

Projector Compatibility

The TWX100 can be used with compatible standard-throw and many short-throw projectors when the projector can create an approximately 87-inch-wide, 100-inch diagonal image from the available mounting distance.

Check the projector manufacturer’s throw-distance calculator before ordering or mounting the screen. Projector lens position, throw ratio, zoom range and image offset determine where the projector must be installed.

Ultra-short-throw notice: Retractable non-tensioned screens may develop slight waves that are more visible with ultra-short-throw projection.

For a UST projector, confirm screen compatibility with the projector manufacturer. A rigid fixed frame, tab-tensioned or dedicated UST screen may provide a flatter and more suitable surface.

White Screen or Grey Screen?

This model uses a matte-white surface, which is a practical choice for rooms where lighting can be reduced and the projector provides suitable brightness.

A grey projection surface may improve perceived black levels in some rooms with ambient light, but it can also reduce overall brightness. Select the screen surface according to projector output and room conditions rather than colour preference alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the screen size exactly 100 inches?

The visible 16:9 image area is approximately 87 inches wide by 49 inches high, producing a 100-inch diagonal image.

Is this a fixed frame or retractable screen?

It is an electric retractable screen. The viewing surface rolls into the metal housing when not in use.

Can it be mounted on a ceiling?

Yes. The housing supports suitable wall or ceiling installation. Installation hardware must be selected for the mounting structure.

Are mounting screws included?

No. Screws, anchors and expansion bolts must be selected according to the wall or ceiling construction.

Does it include a remote control?

Yes. An RF remote and battery are included. The screen can also be operated from the wall keypad.

Can the screen stop before it is fully lowered?

Yes. The stop control allows the screen to be stopped at a preferred position. The native white viewing area remains a 100-inch 16:9 format.

Does it work with a short-throw projector?

It may be used with a compatible short-throw projector when the projector’s throw distance, image size and positioning match the screen. Check the projector manufacturer’s calculator before installation.

Is it recommended for an ultra-short-throw projector?

A retractable non-tensioned surface may show slight waves under the steep projection angle of a UST projector. A dedicated UST, tab-tensioned or fixed frame screen may be a better option.

Can it be used outdoors?

The TWX100 is intended for dry indoor installations. Do not expose the motor, controls, housing or screen material to rain or moisture.

Is a projector included?

No. This product page is for the TWX100 motorized projector screen and its listed controls only.
