Description
Clean In-Wall Speaker Connections
Create a neat connection point between your in-wall speaker wiring, amplifier and speakers with this speaker wall plate with colour-coded binding posts.
Available in versions for 1, 2, 4 or 5 speakers, the wall plate supports compatible banana plugs, spade connectors and bare speaker wire for home theatre, stereo and multi-speaker audio installations.
Professional Speaker Cable Termination
The S-33 speaker wall plate provides a clean alternative to running loose speaker wires through an open wall hole. Speaker cable installed inside the wall connects to the rear binding posts, while short speaker cables connect the front terminals to the amplifier, receiver or speakers.
Matching binding posts on the front and rear simplify installation and do not require soldering. The red and black terminal markings help installers maintain correct positive and negative speaker polarity.
Select the wall plate version according to the number of speaker channels required at the installation location.
Available Speaker Configurations
| Version | Binding-Post Pairs | Typical Application |

| 4 Speakers | 4 red/black pairs | Multi-speaker, surround-sound or multi-room wiring |
| 5 Speakers | 5 red/black pairs | Multi-channel home theatre speaker connections |

Three Speaker Wire Connection Options
Banana plugs: Insert compatible individual banana plugs into the centre of the binding posts for fast connection and removal.
Spade connectors: Loosen the binding-post cap, position the compatible spade connector around the post and tighten the cap securely.
Bare speaker wire: Strip the wire carefully, insert the exposed conductor through the binding-post opening and tighten the terminal.
Important Speaker Connection Information
Red terminal: Connect to the positive speaker wire or positive amplifier terminal.
Black terminal: Connect to the negative speaker wire or negative amplifier terminal.
Maintain the same polarity at the amplifier, wall plate and speaker. Reversed polarity can reduce bass performance and affect stereo imaging.
This wall plate is a passive connection point. It does not amplify the audio signal, change speaker impedance or provide speaker-zone switching.
Matching Front and Rear Binding Posts
The same style of binding-post connection is provided on both sides of the plate. This allows the in-wall speaker cable to be secured at the rear while detachable speaker leads connect at the front.
Bare wire is commonly used behind the wall plate because the permanent in-wall cable normally remains connected. Banana plugs can be used at the front for easier connection and removal of amplifiers, receivers or speakers.
Recommended Applications
Home theatre systems: Terminate front, centre, surround or additional speaker channels at a clean wall location.
Stereo audio systems: Create left and right speaker connections between an amplifier and a pair of speakers.
In-wall speaker wiring: Finish concealed speaker-cable runs without leaving exposed wire coming directly through the wall.
Multi-room audio: Organize several speaker cable runs at an equipment cabinet, amplifier location or room connection point.
Commercial AV installations: Suitable for meeting rooms, classrooms, offices and other low-impedance speaker systems requiring removable speaker connections.
Basic Installation
- Turn off and disconnect the amplifier or AV receiver.
- Install the appropriate wall box or low-voltage mounting bracket.
- Route the in-wall speaker cable to the wall-plate opening.
- Identify the positive and negative conductors for every speaker cable.
- Connect the positive conductor to the rear red binding post.
- Connect the negative conductor to the matching rear black binding post.
- Repeat the process for each speaker channel.
- Secure the wall plate and confirm that no exposed wire strands touch another terminal.
- Connect the amplifier and speaker cables to the corresponding front terminals.
Wall-box depth: Allow enough space behind the plate for the binding posts, speaker wire and required bend radius.
A deeper wall box may be required when banana plugs are installed on the rear terminals.
Speaker wiring must be installed according to applicable building, electrical and low-voltage cabling requirements.
System Compatibility
This binding-post wall plate is intended for conventional low-impedance speaker connections between compatible amplifiers, AV receivers and passive speakers.
Confirm that the amplifier, connected speakers and speaker-wire gauge are suitable for the system design and cable length.
The binding-post spacing is compatible with TEXONIC S-8000 and S-9436 banana plugs. Compatibility with other paired or dual banana plugs should be checked before installation. Individual banana plugs can be used where connector spacing differs.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a speaker wall plate used for?
It provides a finished connection point between speaker wire installed inside the wall and external cables connected to an amplifier, receiver or speakers.
Which versions are available?
The S-33 is available in versions for 1, 2, 4 or 5 speakers.
Can I use banana plugs?
Yes. The binding posts accept compatible banana plugs. Individual banana plugs are recommended when the spacing of a paired or dual plug is uncertain.
Can bare speaker wire be connected directly?
Yes. Loosen the binding post, insert the properly stripped wire and tighten the terminal securely.
Does the speaker wire need to be soldered?
No. The front and rear binding posts provide mechanical connections for compatible banana plugs, spades or bare speaker wire.
What speaker-wire size can be used?
The current product listing specifies approximately 14–18 AWG speaker wire. Confirm that the selected gauge is also suitable for the amplifier power, speaker impedance and cable-run length.
Can banana plugs be used behind the plate?
Compatible banana plugs may be used on the rear terminals when sufficient wall-box depth is available. Bare wire generally requires less space.
Does this plate work as a speaker selector?
No. It is a passive cable-termination plate and does not switch speaker zones, control volume or provide impedance protection.
Can it be used with a 70V or 100V commercial speaker system?
The plate is primarily intended for conventional low-impedance speaker wiring. Commercial distributed-audio wiring should use connectors and installation methods approved for the system design and applicable requirements.
